A new Egyptian-Saudi partnership

His Excellency the Minister, Major General Doctor Bahaa El-Din Zidan, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Provision, and Deputy Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Abdul Rahman bin Salem Al-Dahas, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the digital transformation of the health and pharmaceutical sector and the localization of medical industries between Dr. Ahmed Afifi, General Manager of the Egyptian Company for Medical Investments, one of the companies of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Batati, Executive Director of the Medical Care Portal, one of the companies of Software Makers Limited in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This comes in accordance with the directives of the political leadership and the Egyptian government, to localize the pharmaceutical and medical supplies industry in Egypt; to improve the medical system and increase the quality of services provided to citizens and increase the quality of locally manufactured products so that they can compete with global companies in the practices proposed by the Unified Procurement Authority.

Under this agreement, the Medical Care Portal will provide the Egyptian Medical Investments with the HEC project to build an interactive digital system based on information, including hospitals, clinics, health centers and medical service providers from the necessary operations management, in order to provide comprehensive healthcare that helps the patient and doctor save time, effort and money, build a digital medical file, organize big data in the medical field, and extract reports and indicators that support decision-making based on accurate information. This system will also contribute to the new health insurance system, as it will help link the patient's treatment costs with many hospitals to cover insurance costs and benefit from the largest number of service providers, in addition to the audio translation of the text and converting it to audio to save the patient's time, and it also helps to know the appropriate medicine for the patient and suggest appropriate doses for him.
